back up lights wont turn off

yep, that's about it. I have an auto and when I turn on the lights at night the reverse lights are on in every gear. while I do look cool as the only guy going forward with back up lights on I am sure that this will snag the attention of some cop with an itch to hand out a ticket. anyone else had this prob and know how to fix it?

I wish I knew the answer, but untill you get one..... Pull the bulbs, at least that will keep Johnny Law off ya.

I will be watching for other replies so I will know if it ever happens to me.

maybe the prndl switch? located on trans drivers side. unthread it with a 3/4 inch wrench see if the inner part moves freely. don't know if there are any backup light relays. also this tip applies only to aod's not aode's

I'd hit the back-up light switch and see if the output is staying hot at all times (bridged switch). Replace if necessary.

mostly positive its that switch ronburgundy is referring to... Mine went bad and my lights didnt work at all....easy replacement and they are fine now.
