Sorry, I think I posted in the wrong forum before, so here it is again:

The ses light is on constantly in my girlfriend's totally stock 99' V6 5 speed. I took it to a service station so they could read the codes and they said the auxiliary air pump isn't working. It passed VA emissions with the light on, so I don't think the EPA would mind if I fooled the computer into thinking everything is working properly. Question is, how to do it. I really don't want to spend $200+ and an afternoon replacing the pump if I could avoid it. Pretty much all I've done on her car is basic tune up stuff so I'm not too familiar with the ECU tricks, but I saw a couple things about MIL eliminators. Do you think they would do the job for me?

Thanks in advance.

which code did they give you??

did they diagnose the code??

it could just be a connector disconnected.

if the pump is spinning and not making a bad sound, then something else in the system is probably bad.
