I picked up an 86 Saleen on Friday. The car has been sitting for most of the past decade with very few miles being put on it in that time. I noticed right away that the brakes were spongy on the way home. It stops the car near 1 inch to 1/2 from the floor. I put in a rebuilt MC today and the problem did not change. I bench bled it properly to where there were no air bubbles. I wanted to get a new one but it would be Monday and I wanted to drive the car this weekend. Anyway, the brakes are stock. The pads and shoes look like they have very few miles on them. The front lines look like they are in good shape. I did not check the rear line but i saw no leaks anywhere. I know the parking brake needs to be adjusted. So when the engine is off, the brakes tighten up a little but not very much. On my other cars when the engine is off, the brake get real hard after a couple of pumps. Not this car. Does is sound like the booster is bad?
