Here are my symptoms, starting the car in the mornings it likes to stall but after a few minutes it idles fine, when I step on the gas kinda hard it runs rich and throws out black smoke, I have no check engine light on and I did a diagnostic check at Auto Zone and came up code 67 which said something about the A/C being on which isn't possible because I removed the A/C. Note that I have 220,000 miles on this thing. And sometimes when I am going up a hill and it is in 4th gear(manual tranny) it seems to misfire sometimes. That could be a spark problem. So help me out guys I am confused on what I should do. Oh and my mods are off-road x-pipe and flowmaster mufflers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Code 67 - clutch not depressed (5 speed) or car not in neutral or park (auto). Possible neutral safety switch or wiring problem. You can generally ignore this code, since it has no effect on engine performance. put car in neutral and press clutch pedal (5 speed only). Code will go away.

Clean the MAF element with non-flammable brake cleaner or electrical parts cleaner. Spray it down and let it dry before re-installing it into the MAF housing.

Well recap, My car has been running crappy at first start up in the morning and when I step on the gas it runs rich. Now I am thinking Mass Air Meter. Well after I changed my oil today I let it run to get the oil flowing back through it I decided to unplug the mass air meter to see what difference it would make. It killed the car instantly. Now does this mean that it is functioning properly? Like stated before I ran a diagnostic KOEO and came up code 67, to find out if the mass air meter is bad do I need to run a KOER test. Oh and it seems that I found tiny copper pieces in my oil but my oil pressure is fine and the only tick I have is from a lifter after I put that Lucas Oil SH#T a year ago. No bottom end knock or anything.

Ok I would do a tune up on it first. replace all the plugs, wires, distbutor cap & rotor, New fuel filter. I would also replace the coil, with 200k+ miles on it. I would say that the coil is weak, and can not support the timing of the engine anymore. Try those things othere wise I can't think of anything.
