I agree about the chin spoiler. I like everything but that. I talked to the guy who owns it and he says he is either at a car show or racing it every weekend. He even had some pic of him racing...
I've seen that car in person, the vinyl top works, but like you said, he tacked on too much extras IMHO.
BTW you wouldn't happen to live in the Parkersburg WV area would you? I saw that car about a month back at a show in the city park, IIRC.

I live about 25 minutes south of Ashland KY in Louisa...As for him putting too much on it I think just the chin spoiler is too much. He claimed that it was a real California special, but I dont know. I know it had 67 door panels, I didnt think they made California specials in 67, only 68, but I could be wrong, or he may have just used the 67 door panels in it...
i've always liked vinyl tops on coupes, that's why i put one back on my 69 too. my 69 cougar came with the "two-tone" option which was really just the roof painted in either black or white with chrome trim at the bottom instead of the the painted vinyl texture trim. i've been considering going back with a vinyl top on it when i redo the car, color combo will be the same as my 69 coupe, acapulco blue with black top, either that or i'll do a black painted "two-tone" top but the vinyl is really starting to boil to the top of my choices. it will also have the silver 69 hood stripe and probably a silver pinstripe or a modified cougar eliminator style stripe in either silver or black but the hood stripe will definitely be silver and i'm really leaning towards just a simple silver pinstripe that mimics the original stripe on the car.
