so I was stopped at a red....and my harmonic balancer separated or what ever they do the engine was obviously
shaking really bad so I limped it off the road and towed it home....did this damage my engine, what will happen if I just throw another balancer on it, there was no knocking or anything like that? do I need a puller for the pulley?
thanks cam

I doubt it did any harm to the engine. As long as you didn't let it run for a long time, you should be ok.

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

Yes you need a puller. While I doubt it did any damage you won't k ow for sure until you get it fixed. Auto zone or the like will typically rent you the puller for free.
