Balancing flywheel

I'm not sure what flywheel it is... The engine currently in the car is the third engine it's had, but I'm guessing it's original.
How would I tell if the harmonic balancer is dead?

Thanks for the note yobi, I might be interested, not sure yet.

Whats the vibration like? Is it constant? Does it increase with load? Did you run codes? Try to be a little more specific please!

Check your balancer out. The stock balancer is only rated till 4500 RPMs. Yes, you read that right. Around 100K they tend to crap out. You can see the rubber coming out of the balancer if you look at it.

Vibration is definitely a drivetrain vibe, the shifter vibrates like crazy, and it increases a LOT under load, especially in 4th gear at 3500+ rpms. It vibrates when I rev it in neutral as well, which is why I don't think it's the driveshaft like everyone told me.

The car body itself has almost 150,000 miles on it, so that's probably a good suspect.

Thanks for the reply!

have you messed with the motor mount at all? have you checked the alingment of your drive train..loosen your motor mounts see if it shifts. That happen to me when i changed my mounts.. also maybe worn out.

Do we know if the vibe happens while the car is sitting still (but being revved)? If so, the driveline is not where I would look.

Good luck.
