Hi all....
I have a Sonic Blue '05 V6 with an auto tranny as my daily driver. I bought the V6 because I like the new body style & wasn't going to pay the outrageous price for a GT. Since this is my driver, it needs to be quicker. I just sold my 500rwhp '04 Cobra, I own a 500+rwhp Grand National & a 450rwhp Fox Mustang.. As you might imagine, it not very exciting jumping in the '05 after a drive in the other cars. I'm not going to keep the V6 engine in the '05 for too much longer. It will be pulled as soon as it hits 36,000 & replaced with a built '03/'04 Cobra motor. Right now I'm at about 10,000. I don't want to get crazy with the V6 mods because they will be useless after the Cobra motor is in. What mods will give me the best bang for the buck? Will the XCalibrator 2 get rid of the sluggish throttle response? Is the underdrive crank pulley worth it? What about a CAI? I also just bought a MagnaFlow duel exhaust system, Eibach Sportline lowering springs & a GT body kit. The car came with a set of nice lookin' 20's & I just finished a 1000+ watt audio system.

I'm not looking for alot more out of the V6.. Just a bit more pep & better response.

Thanks :SNSign:

The Xcal2 will help, a CAI. Check the guys running the Zex systems. Mid 13's for now. If your going to do the Cobra motor, then upgrade the rear end and some new gears? Nice ride! Good luck.

Its my opinion that you'd be better off now just beefing up the suspension ... w/a rear swaybar, some lowering springs, shocks and a shock tower brace.

like you've said,,, it'd be crazy working the V6 mods since they will be useless once the Cobra motor is in.

The frame is getting tied next week along with the install of the lowering springs, shocks, struts & the duel exhaust. I'm still looking for a nice 8.8 so I can put the 4:10's in. I still have over 20,000 miles to go before the engine swap. The car needs a little more pep. The throttle responce is crap... I heard that the SCT tuner will fix that problem. (??)
