Last night I got so sick of this banging...I still haven't had time to get it in the air but last night I put my arm under the rear and yanked on the swaybar, SUPRISE, moved about an inch backwards towards me. Its got an inch of play back and forth.

This isnt supposed to happen, right? lol. Does this usually mean bushings or just a bolt needs tightening?

EDIT: just realized that its not the swaybar...I don't know what its called the suspension bar in the rear by the gas tank that goes across horizontally. Swaybar?

Yep, that is the sway bar. Not supposed to have any movement at all. Take it off. there are 2 bolts per side on the lower control arm. I think they are 15mm and you may be able to do it without removing the wheels if you feel so inclined.

Well, I would like to fix it instead of just taking it off, due to the fact that the front swaybar is already removed.

I actually think that running only a rear swaybar is hurting more than helping you here. I think it will contribute to oversteering.

I would remove the rear and replace the front if at all possible.

Now as for fixing it (since that is the actual question) you have to see why it is loose. It could be unbolted or it could be broken. Either are highly probable. Best bet is to get under there and see what is going on (back it onto some ramps maybe?).

yea either the swaybar is broken or the bolts are broken or backed out. There are no bushings/endlinks on the rear swaybar...they just mount directly to the control arms. If you need a bar I'll sell you mine..its in good shape. $50+ shipping.

EVm adjustable, MM adjustable, eibach, addco, and just about any fox swaybar. Different years had different stiffnesses between the cobras and gt's, lx's etc. If you can find a list of which ones are stiffer/softer then you can decide what you want. I personaly like a little softer than stock Gt bar. but thats just me.
