I just bought an 02 gt a couple weeks ago and it's bone stock. The first thing I want to do is lower it and I need some advice please.

I don't know much about lowering. I don't even know what parts I'm going to NEED. I'm not looking for race track handeling, just looks and ride quality that's near stock. I know I need springs and shocks/struts, but what else do I need to replace in order to ensure proper alignment.

If you want to just lower it enough to make it look goodand handle even better, then go with eibach prokit. H & R supersports if you want it lower, but you will need other stuff with this kit.

Couldnt you just get some Steeda sport springs? and the rest would be stock.

Thanks for the replies.

So you guys are saying with the Eibach prokit and steeda, I wouldn't need to replace the shocks/struts nor would I have alignment issues? How would the ride quality be? Also, which springs offer the most consistent drop? 1"-1.25" would be great. I don't want slammed.

I know it's a lot of ????, but bare with me.

I've done a lot of research on this and here's what I am doing based on reviews, reputation and supplier warranty coverage:

1.) Steeda Sport Springs drop 1.25 inches. Just right in my opinion. Don't forget new urethane isolators. You may not need them but what the heck, they're cheap...

2.) Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustable (soft to race track firm) shocks and struts. Get the Fox versions as they are 1 inch shorter to match the 1 inch drop. If $$ are an issue you can get the Tokico HP (Set to Illumina 3 position) for less $$ but they are not adjustable. You can use the stock shocks and struts but they will not last a year according to my research and you'll have to replace them. Since the suspension is all apart when you do the springs, the shock and strut labor is free. Do them together or pay labor again within the year.

3.) Caster Camber Plates. I am doing the Steeda 3 bolt as I do not race. Some say you don't need them but most say you do. I am going with the majority.

4.) Bump steer kit. Most opinions say it's optional with only a 1.25 inch drop but I'm doing it anyway.

5.) Alignment: Absolutley, the suspension will be all apart.

I hope this helps. Good luck

Bob
