I've tried copper, and multi-layer dead-soft aluminum, and Fel-Pro 1415's. The only gaskets that didn't leak were the Fel-Pro 1415's...

For $15 you can't beat the 1415s, they are great. Have fun with those headers, they are HUGE and require the engine to be unbolted from the mounts. It also helps to remove the upper intake.

it aint gonna happen....the driver's side will go in if you unbolt the steering shaft...but the passenger side just isnt gonna work...there is NO ROOM....you will HAVE to unbolt the motor mounts and jack up the motor to get the passenger side in....oh and make sure when you disconnect the steering shaft to slide that puppy in there if you tuck the steering shaft up and to the side along the inner fender that once you get the header in theryou get the steering shaft beneath the header before you bolt the header to the head...cuz you will never get the shaft down if you dont <----trust me...you dont wanna find that out and have to go back and take the header off....but the dirver's side is a PITA!!....just undo the mounts and jack up the motor right from the start i actually got the passenger side header wedged between the little "lip" on the valve cover and the inner fender...it was stuck so bad it would not budge no matter what i tried...it stayed like that for a whole day while i was pissed at the car. All this because i didnt want to take the time to undo the mounts and jack it up. But then i finally jacked up the motor and it went in fairly easily after that....

FWIW I have the Bassani shorty equals. I used their gasket; it was slow to seal but works fine now.
I didn't need to unbolt the steering shaft for the LS, but I did need to loosen the RS motor mount and raise the engine for the RS. Beaucoup wrestling with the EGR at the header. Anthony's post is on target, pack the Excedrin.

Reckon I should mention, mine had a weld missing where the four primaries join at the collector. Looking into the collector I could see daylight. Sent it back and they exchanged it pronto with apologies. That was nearly a decade ago, things are probably different now. Good luck!
