Welp, I'm in the market for some bass.. Looked around at different setups and decided I should go with a tube, unless you guys say otherwise of course. I just figure boxes are generally too big and bulky, and usually ugly unless done right or custom. I should say I'm not looking so much for show quality, or complete window blowing bass.. just something to rock my tecca ninna and take it a level above stock.. tubes are relatively small, especially powered ones (which are the ones I'm looking at) and I could almost stash one behind a seat, or in the trunk.. How many watts am I gunna need to have for this to be worth it, and have you guys had any experiences with tubes, bazooka or otherwise?

Bass tubes are worth it, I mean if you are only looking for some bass, nothing huge, then they are decent. Rockford makes some nice ones, along with infinity and bazooka, I would not get anything under 200 watts rms, if you do, you will probably regret it. Bass notes (20 hz-500hz) require lots of power, so going with anything under 200 watts rms is kinda silly in my opinion. I have heard tubes before and they dont sound bad, a good way to save space.

Ah, No to Tubes and a BIG NO to Basslink. I have had both in my Mustang and went with the traditional speaker box vs. the Bass Tube. Boxes don't have to big or bulky or even expensive. I made one that doesn't even interfere with the spare tire. I really didn't like the way the bazooka sounded at all and neither did other Stang owners who have had em. And the Basslink is the most OVERPRICED piece of junk out there. If you MUST have a Basslink, get one off of ebay new for about half the price crutchfield proudly displays. Don't get me wrong though....Tubes and Basslink sounded great in my Bronco, but in the trunk of a Mustang...its just sounds like crap to me. Just my opinion.

bass tubes = waste of money.you can buy a brand new 10 inch sub for 80 dollars or less with a 500 watt power rating, and it will out last the tube by years and the sound will be 3 times louder.
