I'm wondering if anyone has the bassani modular x-pipe with the optional cat delete pipes (part number 46053). I'm looking at getting this setup and wanted to know how hard it is to change from the hi-flow cats to the race pipes. A sound clip would be great as well! Anyone out there have this setup for their S-197??

I have it and love it! For the price ($388) you can't beat it in my opinion. I have a JBA axle back and it made my car sound much more aggressive and thats with cats and I actually don't plan on putting the off road pipes on any time soon. Compared to just an axle back it made my car a decent amount louder and completely changed the tone, compared to an h pipe it has an aggressive "yell" around 3500rpm. And if I wanted to change the pipes out right now it would probably take about 40 minutes including putting the car up on jack stands and clean up time. Well worth it. Brenspeed has it for the above price.....PS you will need oxygen sensor extensions if you have an auto trans.

Any muffler setup with an off road x will sound raspy and tinny. The best way to go is with a high flow catted x pipe. Some will say that straight through mufflers sound best with x pipes where chambered mufflers sound good with h pipes. I have to agree with this statement since I tried a lot of different mufflers with both pipes and I am happy with my high flow catted x with my FRPP Borla/Stingers. When I get my Pypes mid muffler system, I'll be even happier. Go with the cats.

Click on my exhaust link in my signature to get a general idea how the catted x pipe sounds.

Thanks for the replies. The clips sounded great. Great choices on your exhaust set-ups. I have JBA shorties and a B&B axle back right now and it's pretty loud (much better than stock) but I want it to have a meaner idle and absolutely ferocious when I open it up. I'm hoping this x-pipe can do the trick.
