I just installed my new Bassani exhaust dumps. I have a 2-1/4 high flow cat h pipe with stock exhaust manifolds. It is quiter than expected. Will these muffler become louder as I drive it?

This is so general its hard to say honestly. What did u have before?

I have no personal experience but "breakin in" mufflers never seemed to be a night and day difference....more like small changes in tone/volume. Nothing that will take u from "my exhaust is quiet" to "my exhaust is loud".

I had stock mufflers. I have heard people say you have to break in Bassani mufflers. I have always had chambered mufflers so start up was noticable.
I have been driving for a couple of days and I can still smell the new on them.

Im not saying they wont break in, all im saying is that usually, when comparing mufflers of the same size you get the same loudness out of them. And depending on the muffler type, they may "loosen up" a bit and get a little louder but i've never heard of mufflers going from "quiet" then getting broken in and being "loud".

Im just telling you to expect small changes....nothing large.

For instance, adding a flowmaster catback to a stock stang will mainly just change the tone of the exhaust, you arent getting much more loudness from it. Atleast in my experience.

To get more volume you will have to either reduce your muffler size, or lose those cats....

OR maybe they do get louder and satisfy u in the future. Keep us up to date on it :nice:
