Bassani Mid's dyno results...

Okay, just got back from the shop....install and dyno pulls only...no re-tune.

Over my previous best these headers just made.. at peak.. right at 20 more rwhp and 14 mor lb/ft torque than my prv pulls. I know you want to see the sheet but my scanner is bad here. I can post those later but I just thought I would toss it out now because of all the discussion about these headers w/o any real world numbers to back it up...

Prviously w/o headers 279 rwhp sae, 299 tq....
Current numbers were 299.7 (.7 dangit) and 313-314 tq...

Mods
Bassani mid's
Bassani 5 pc x w cats
Magnapacks
JLT CAI
C&L MAM ( I know, I know)
75MM BBK TB
C&L Plenum
V/T Stage II Cams
NO HEAD WORK....

With 4.30's in the arse end.....

Overall VERY pleased....didn't think I'd see 20/14 out of it...

So just an fyi for everyone....

Wow, that's a really nice gain with those headers. I saw another guy around the site that had Bassani Mids in his sig and I aked him how he like those headers and he said he took them off and switched to another header because he only gained 10 HP. Good mods in your sig. :nice:

WOW, awsome man! Man your SO close to 300RWHP. Just for my peace of mind, was the before/after #s done on the same dyno? The reason I ask is because I have heard of cars making 250 on 1 dyno and 280 on another, so that would make the gains as consistent as possable.

yea thats great gains. i only gained 15 rwhp peak with l/t's.

however, if you tune it, i think you might actually lose a little power up top but you will gain down low tq instead.

it dont sound great when said like that, but when you make the gains down low it is well worth it.

ex. this is my numbers after installing the headers. before and after tune

with headers before tune.
3200rpm +2/4
3500rpm +6/7
4000rpm +2/1
4500rpm +6/6
5000rpm +8/9
5500rpm +12/11
5900rpm +16/17

with headers after tune
3200rpm +15/26
3500rpm +13/23
4000rpm +8/7
4500rpm +8/7
5000rpm +11/14
5500rpm +13/12
5900rpm +13/13

peak numbers stay about the same but you should just kick it over 300rwhp.

They were on different dyno's...both SAE #'s though and the weather was much worse yesterday than it was when I tuned it after the cam install....

damacman, the cams (V/T Stage II's) aren't real blower friendly...but I hear they love the bottle....hmmmmmmmmm

Scalder, those are some nice numbers man! I was kind of on the fence about doing mid-lengths when I do a PI swap, because I wanted some sort of header but also wanted to keep my Bassani X. Now I'll definitely do it (assuming I don't bypass the swap by going the SVT route :D )

Here is the dyno sheet....
I plan on going to the place where I got my tune and original #'s after the cam install this weekend to get the A/F touched up a bit...I'll get a pull there so we can compare apples to apples..

UPDATE...It's Saturday afternoon and I just got back from the dyno where I got my original numbers from...This time I came back with 298.9/306.9....

UNCORRECTED I put down 303.7/311.7....So there you have it...Pretty solid gains from the midlengths!

You lost power after you got it corrected?
