I have a 99 svt cobra and was wondering three things. What will it cost me to get a full exhaust setup through Bassani? Which exhaust do they make now that sounds like the quiet thunder? And Are there headers I can get that will allow me to pass emissions?

Unless you are going to be pushing a lot of boost, 12 lbs or more, you don't need headers, nor even an x or h pipe... the gains are very small... 10 hp for headers on your car and are around $400 to buy and $500 to install (or more). $1000 for 10 hp is crazy...

Again, unless you plan on getting tons of boost!

The entire kit will cost you about $1500 in parts alone.

If I were you, I would spend $200 or less and get a K&N FIPK 2, should net you about 20 hp. Add the cat back if you want - much better sound than stock and will net you another 15 hp or more.

Just my 2 cents

Go with the Bassani full exhaust, you won't regret it. I have the x-pipe with cats and cat-back. Best sounding exhaust of all the competition. My 99 cobra is 310rwhp and no headers. Bassani is awesome.

I know it won't get me much power, but the reason I was doing full exhaust was for the sound. I used to have catback on my 95 vette, and the biggest regret I had was not doing full exhaust. It is so much better of a sound. I will take the few horsies I get as a bonus.

I have the Bassani mid-length headers and catted x mated to my Magnaflow cat-back. Absolutley no emissions issues to date. I'm having the car dynoed again soon, but based on the ass-o-meter the headers did wonders. Going from stock exhaust (if that's where you are now) to a full Bassani system should be worth at least 20 hp, if not more. Plus, no one will be able to wipe the $hit-eating grin off of your face after you fire it up for the first time...

If you do a full ehaust on a 99 or 01 cobra you will net at least 25+ rwhp. And It sounds mean as hell. I just got mine installed 3 days ago, I love it, and I can tell a difference, pulls alot better up top.

I am with you, I like the awesome sound of an exhaust upgrade.... I was just pointing out the performance aspect... 30 hp for $1400 is quite expensive... double that and you can get a procharger and kick out 150 horses... Now, that is an upgrade

I like pulling up on someone and seeing the WTF look on their faces.... sounding mean as hell is often more than worth it

Oh I totally agree. Bang for your buck, exhaust isn't very good at all. Charging my car is only a matter of time. But for right now all I want to do is to shake the windows of the ricers that are down here. My goal is that they will be scooping ***** out of their pants for weeks to come. I just love a good exhaust note. Its music to my ears.

If you've got the money, it's worth it. You might want to do it in pieces, like starting with the mid pipe.

I am going to make the purchase next week. Where can i get the best price for the cat-back. Plus which exhaust is the one that is pretty quiet at idle, then gets loud when you get on it. I know it used to be the quiet thunder, but what is it now?

The magnaflow is quite at idle and hellish at WOT.... I have videos of WOT and idle in my sig.. I asked the same questions not too long ago and thought it would help people like us that want to know

http://ubb.mustangexhaust.com/ > hundreds of sound clips...

Sound taste varies... I highly recomend that you listen to as many clips as you care to stand... noting the combos that sound good to you and the URLs that you heard them from... get to local hangouts and listen in person is much better... then make your choice.. huge investment so choose carefully. They all make about the same amount of power.

Well for me bassani is way over priced. It's like 750 just for the cat back. Thats way to much, plus if you get headers get longtubes, anything else is a waste of time.
