02 with bassani orx, welded in flowmaster delta flow 40 series.
i need to make a video clip to let you all diagnose it better.

it's like a raspy buzz/rattle/diesel sound when you let off from 3500 +/- going down into the idle rpms. there are/were some fit issues with the X not fitting super tight. I bought a dei wrap kit and wrapped the entire x pipe piece to make a "dense'r" material but it's beginning to get to me. i know bassani is loud but once i get the vid up tell me what you think...
thanks in advance
joey

I had that same setup and didn't like it. Flowmasters are chambered mufflers. You need a cat-back that's straight through, like Bassani or Borla.

Bassani X and Borla cat back and i think it sounds great. I get lots of compliments on it. Not too loud like some of the other combo's i've heard, although i do have cats....for now.

my Bassani setup is nowhere near raspy(i.e. crappy). I didnt even want to hear how it would sound with my old flowmasters. x+flows=poo

complicated idea.
i'm in the process of cutting the cats from the stock H and welding in straight 2" pipe in there place, how do you think this will turn out?
i think in a nutshell i want a deeper sound somehow, i'm going to take some clips tommorrow for cross examination from you all

awesomely raspy.

Mustangtuning, Dr Gas, UPR, Magnaflow, and Pypes are X pipes that sound good with flows and have little to no rasp.

BBK and Bassani will rasp with flows as they are not a true X design.

Sound varies from one brand X to another.

I love the sound! I have no complaints. Throw some Long tube headers on there and be done with that!

I dont know what your hearing... I think your car sounds pretty sweet! I have the same mufflers and based upon your video its enough for me to start considering going with an O/R X instead of my H.

That sounds really good.

A buddy of mine has a BBK o/r X and weld in Flow's. It is really rhaspy, just like everyone says. I personally like it though, it sounds alot different than the avg Flowmastered Mustang.
