bassini bx catted x-pipe

hey everyone...

i'm getting ready to order a new x pipe for my stang, and i'm thinking of ordering the Bassini BX kit. has anyone tried these out yet? i need something affordable and i've heard of fitment problems with the MAC and BBK set ups...i'm also considering Magnaflow's X...anyways, any input anyone has about these different brands or anything related would be great. i need the X to fit up to my FRPP ceramic shorties and it has to have cats - so let me know what you all think / have found to work well.

p.s. anyone know of a good price on the Magnaflow? 5.0resto lists the Bassini BX with cats for $399, so i'd like to stay in that range or less if possible. thanks everyone!

I've got the Bassani catted X, but it's the stainless steel version (more $$$). I have stock headers and catback (minus welded flows). Bassani stuff is supposed to fit well with just about anything. Mine fit perfect.

NOTE: Most X pipes will hang a bit lower than stock or other H pipes with cats. The cats on X pipes are very near the X and you can count on losing about an inch of ground cleanance. Right now I have bone stock suspension and I have 4" of ground clearance at the lowest point (my cats).

I'm about to drop the car about an inch with H&R race springs, but I'm told that ground clearance should be ok, just go real slow over speed bumps. Just another thing to consider, if dropping your car significantly.

Oh yeah..........the sound is absolutely awesome and louder than stock. Very exotic sounding.

I recently put a Bassani Catted X-pipe on my car. I really like it. It fitted right up with no fitment issues what so ever. I don't have real loud mufflers right now, but it has a nice exotic sound to it, and you can definitly tell that the sound is louder than it was with the stock h-pipe.

(BTW, I purchased mine used. It is the stainless version, but the BX is just as good).

I highly recommend that you get the Bassani X-pipe. You will not be dissapointed. :nice:

did u notice a power increase with just the catted x pipe?

I (like Car Nut) experienced a very noticeable gain all throughout the rpm range. The Flowtech mufflers were already on my car when I purchased it, so the x-pipe went on after they were installed.

Like I said before, I highly recommend the Bassani x-pipe. :nice:

I hit a cat going into a gas station and cracked the inside of the cat and was blowing out chunks until I took it off. It only dented the shell and the inside was toast. I hollowed it out and started to do the same with the other and now I am buying LT and don't need it.
I was going to just use it as an O/R X and use it to pass inspection cuz it looks like a catted pipe.
I will sell it for $200 plus shipping if you are interested I can post up pics. :nice:
