Battery Cable

Hey all! Im hoping we can all answer my suspsions correctly. Im having a case were randomly while trying to start the car the lights will not come on like the car isnt getting any juice, like its a bad ground i jiggle the battery cables or remove them for a bit and retighten them. Problem fixed temporarily still happens randomly though, new starter solonoid i have 2 grounds for the battery one to the block another to the fender wall. Power for the battery goes straight to the solenoid.

Now whenever this happens Ive tested by removing the ground for the battery cable from the battery ground and tap against it till i see sparks, am I correct in thinking that i am always susposed to see sparks, once i see sparks i tighten it back up and car starts up.

voltage and charging are good on the battery I never did find the problem on the old one I had so... Im out of ideas atm.. Help?

I'm sure you've tried this, but have you cleaned your battery posts and battery cable terminals? Also, how does your ground go from the battery to the fenderwell? You need the negative battery cable that has the little wire coming off of it that attaches to the other wire that bolts to the fenderwell for the ECU ground.

Also, a lot of us run ground wires from the block (mine goes from the timing cover the same place the negative battery cable bolts to). I cleaned (sanded the paint off of a small spot) the fenderwell and ran the ground to that spot. I used a starter cable since it has two ends that bolt down. You can measure the distance and ask the people at the auto parts store to let you look at the wires to find the right size.

Also, kinda sounds like maybe your negative battery cable is in bad shape. If wiggling it helps, either:
1) The cable terminal or battery post is not clean
2) The terminal isn't attached well enough
3) The wire in the cable is bad
4) The neg. battery cable isn't attached firmly to the timing chain cover (bolt loose?)
