battery light flickering

i was on the freeway coming home and every lil bump or dip i hit my battery light would flicker and as i was getting off the freeway it kept coming on and my car wanted to die ive been having issues for the past few days can anyone help

Have the charging system checked out for free at one of the larger auto parts stores. They can determine if you have a charging problem or a loose bulb in the battery warning light socket.

Also provide the year of the vehicle and generation of alternator being used. A loose charge cable connection will have system voltage all over the place (along with a flickering battery light). This would be more applicable to a 3G than a 2G.
