Battery or Alternator...im new at this

I was driving around yesterday and coming to a stop..my car dies and the AMP light comes on, so i started it back up...started normally, then after about 5 mins. it does it again.....THEN pulling into my driveway..it does it AGAIN! would that be the battery or the alternator.

Sounds like the alternator, but if you keep driving on it, your going to kill the battery too.

yeppers, alternator. Throw a 3g in there and be done with it. An optima wouldnt hurt you either.

usually your car wouldn't start right back up if the alt was bad

hmm...well, it only happened randomly, haven't driven it much today to see if it does it again..would it be a coil?? no clue

If your battery held some charge it would start, but it would run less and less every time you started it. Eventually it wouldnt start at all.
