I just put on two new batter terminals. The positive one seems to be ok after tightening.

But the negitave one can still spin on the top no matter how tight I crank the bolt. I belive the unit was just too weak and bent instead of crushing into the top of the battery.

I am looking to replace both tops with new high quality battery terminals.

Please note I have all my cables with rings on the end that would have to bolt down onto the terminals.

Thanks for any recomendations.

After reading more it looks like I had the cheap LEAD terminals that end up bending.

I see brass terminals. Just want something strong that wont bend.

I'm going to guess that you don't know that the positive and negative posts are often different diameters and/or a different taper. The side that wouldn't tighten is probably the small diameter post and you had a large terminal clamp.

Do you want to change the terminal or the whole cable?

They have terminal spacers to make it fit. Brass terminals like the ones i use that come in a pair sometimes have a smaller diameter negative.

Alll the cables I made are brand new, I only need the terminals.

So should I go with brass or lead or steel?

Not really, function is #1 prioraty.
I ended up buying brass terminals, much stronger than lead terminals.
Still didn't fix my issue.
I will make a new post reguarding that.
