Battery wiring question

Coming off of the positive terminal of the battery, the cable goes to the fuse box. From there it looks like it splits and one cable goes to the starter solenoid and the other to the alternator.

My question is, does the cable from the positive battery terminal to the fuse box provide any power to the fuse box, or is that point on the fuse box simply where Ford chose to make the split sending one cable to the starter and one to the alternator?

I've mounted the fuse box in the fender and I now I need to figure out how I'm gonna wire everything with the battery in the trunk.

Thanks
Dave
