I'm not sure if anyone else has posted anything about this problem before anad if so I apologize for not having the time to read through all the posts. Anyway, I've got about 70miles on my car and after having it sit in the garage for a few days I went to drive it and the battery was dead. I was told by the towtruck driver that this is common because there are so many electrical parts on these cars and if you don't start them at least every other day this will happen. There are a lot of times when this car won't be driven and there are times when the car will be sitting for a while. I have a convertible and probably won't be driving it a lot in the winter. If I'm away on vacation am I supposed to hire someone to start the car everyday? That seems a little ridiculous. Has anyone else had battery issues?

There is something wrong with your car. Take it in to ford and let them fix it for free. A new car with a new battery should be able to sit for 3-6 months and still have enough charge to start.

Your tow truck driver has been mislead. It's apparent that there is something in the electrical system that is putting a drain on the battery. It could be a short or other faulty component.

As for letting your car sit, if it is going to sit for a prolonged period, a few months, putting it on a battery tender and also treating the fuel with stabilizer and other preventative and preservative measures, the car should be fine.

Take it to the dealer for sure, but get educated and be wary of tow truck driver's blind insight.
