BBK Longtubes

I wrote the thread about the steering shaft rubbing my headers. I would really like to try some long tubes. Has anyone had or know someone who has longtubes and do they rub anything? How tight a fit are they? I know they make a little more power.

My BBK longtubes don't rub on my steering shaft.

I gained 1.3x mph with a freshly rebuilt 302, bbk longtubes over shorties, and my Eddy lower ported. I do not think much, if anything gained was from the longtubes.

Longtubes do sound better though

Neither of my bbk longtubes touched the steering shaft.

Are they one piece? Do they slide in pretty easy or are they a pain to install?

I had to lift up the engine about 3-4 inches, and they are definitely harder to install than shorties. If your looking to gain more power, I would look somewhere else, if you have shorties. If you have stock headers, I would go ahead and do longtubes, if you got the money.

My Mac LTs rub on my steering shaft, but then again from what I have heard new motor mounts will cure this...
