I remember a thread like this and I think someone said they drilled a small hole in the throttle blade......I don't know if that was what they did but it was something like that

I think Roland is thinking of a slightly different issue - it's often the small hole that causes whistling.

Does the Throttleblade have a hole in it already?

I heard Mac's tbs's do this too. I bought one (mac) off a guy for $20 and haven't put it on yet. Don't know if I should even bother. The guy I bought it from said it was whistling where the throttle blade rod meets the top or bottom of the tb.

Good luck

wut up hissin.
things are cool!

the whistle is caused by your intake manifold air inlet. since the intake inlet is different from the outlet of you tb, the air being pushd thru goes thru a obsticle curse which causes the whine/whistle

you need to port match you intake inlet to stop the whislte.

My original BBK throttle body whistled up until the throttle blade shaft broke. This was a few years ago and I'm not sure how old the unit was. BBK replaced the entire unit with a different casting that didn't whistle. Call them they may swap it out for you or offer a suggestion on getting rid of the whistle. I believe the whistle actually comes from the edges of the bypass bores.

I have a accu fab tb with a cobra intake. I port matched the intake myself untill the whistle went away. Therefore I am speaking facts not fiction or belief.

After my CAI it whistled a lot less. BBKs are know for that noise. Especially if you are on it and shifting.

Found a sticky on another site about this issue... don't have one myself but i thought i would pass this along. They solved it by just anding the rough edges inside the throttle body.

There is a screw on the backside of the throttle, its called a throttle plate hard stop screw. Turn it one way or another until it goes away.
