Be sued for posting dyno results of companies products??

Through a fellow mustang owner friend, I recently purchased a throttle body spacer from a certain company to put on my car (1996 Mustang GT)...I am a student in BAU (automotive tech) and have free access to a dyno...Anyways, if I post results from before and after the install of this companies product, can I be sued for slander or anything??? If the results show a loss of power the company will def be mad....I am just posting results, I don't see how I can be held for that...

No you cant. The dyno results are those of your car and are your property. A company cant tell you to never post a dyno anywhere if their product is on your car. Post em.

slander is lying with malicious intent or something like that, so as long as you don't skew the results or something you'll be fine.


oh, and most times you'll just get a cease and desist letter first and they'll ask you to remove it. Costs money to sue someone.

No you can't be sued because most of the products that are put on are from motors that are moded. It wouldn't make sense to get sued.

Like for example, a T/A ram air will get more horses out of L/Ta than a regular T/a. They will say,"with this L/Ts a T/a has gain 30hp to the wheels." At the end they will say,"LS1s get 30hp off these headers." Its not lieing but then again its telling the truth somewhat. Its all marketing.

i'm going to disagree with the folks here. in america you can sue someone for just about anything and win. what people here are saying is that the company in their opinion has no case.

consider this. a new jersey woman was in a minor car accident and sued the guy that hit her because she lost her esp and as a psychic lost her ability to earn a living. a jury decided in her favor. pretty crazy? huh

The people should have just shot him for breaking and entering... no lawyers involved then . Guess you would have to take into account your states laws on shooting intruders. In NC from what I have seen you can shoot someone breaking into your property as long as they are facing you. Apparently if their back is to you the jury can see it as they were trying to run and you gunned them down.

If she had esp then she should've seen it coming. That's the defense I would've used and if I had been a juror I would've accepted it.
