I have just taken the crank out of the engine with totaled bearings; it had about 0.1" freewill while the book I have recommends maximum 0.012". So time to replace them. There are many types of bearings - standard bimetal or performance trimetal or x-metal... wondering if it is worth to go with performance bearings; whether they are really considerably more reliable or not?

Are they going into a stock engine? Mild build? Heavy build? Race engine? 1000hp dyno queen?
