Belt Slip

Hey,

I have noticed, occassionally when I down shift and lay on the throttle, there is a hesitation then the car takes off.

Logically it seems like belt slip. I have the 2.93 pulley and no additional tensioner. Has anyone experienced belt slip and is this what it feels like?? Is there an aftermarket tensioner I can install and maintain the factory pulley cover???

Thanks

I've had temendous problems with my 04 stock cobra with belt slip to include disturbingly noticeable belt sqeel at any part of the throttle opening. It last until the engine warms up for up to ten minutes every time after start up. Had ford dealer fix it the first time and after three months it has slowly come back. They said it was the pully and the belt making the noise that they replaced. I am going to have to have it replaced again. I am thinking of investing in getting a cog belt system to eliminate the slip all together. RPMoutlet has the belt tensioners for sale. Can't keep the cover.

cog systems are cool and all but a really bad idea for a daily driver.
