I have a 95 supercharged mustang with a powerdyne. Every time I start up the car the belt squeaks really loud and goes away after 30 secs. When driving the car it does not squeak at all only after start up. What could be the problem?

mine did this when my manual tensioner (march alt tensioner) wasn't tight enough. maybe your auto tensioner is failing?

i'm having the same problem with my vortech and wonder if you found out the solution.i tried everything, new belt, new tensioner,i also installed a 3g alternator and a high flow waterpump.i have no a/c,no p/s,no smog.it only does it on startup when its been sitting.if i start it after its been running awhile it makes no squeak.i also know that the pulleys are in alignment and have the right angle of placement.i hope you found the answer.let me know if you did.this is for my 90 lx not 02 gt.

It has a new gatorback belt and the belt is tight as I can get it. I did notice the tensioner pulley has very slight back and forth movement. Maybe the bearing in the tensioner pulley is starting to go?

if you shoot the belt with WD40 does the sound stop?

you may narrow down if its the belt or an pulley.

Mine does it too when it has been sitting for a little and it goes away after it heats up(belt) a bit. really humid where I live and the belt gets really sticky

try that

I used belt dressing and the squeak does stop but comes back after awhile.
