i just bought one for my 98gt i had to get one that fits a cobra that bolts on with 3 nuts instead of the one for the gt which had 1 bolt in the center is this odd or not

i just bought one for my 98gt i had to get one that fits a cobra that bolts on with 3 nuts instead of the one for the gt which had 1 bolt in the center is this odd or not
not sure what you did but GT and Cobra use the same 3 bolt belt tensioner from 1996 to 1999 then in 2000 Ford went to a 1 bolt tensioner. so either someone has swap engines in your car or swapped-out the front cover.

also, if yours is still a 3 bolt tensioner, Ford has a improved steel tensioner to replace the "prone to bending" aluminum tensioner.

i didnt know what they all used i was asking because the first one they gave me had one hole and they said that was for a gt and the 3 hole was for a cobra so i wasnt sure what was what
