Best bang for the buck?

What do you guys think the best mod for the money is power wise?

Plenum? Exhaust? U/D pulleys? CAI (doubt it)? Gears? Tune/chip?

I thought gears would be top choice, haha. How much do installs usually go for in general? I would probaly go 3.73's cause I do alot of highway driving.

But right now I am thinking a UPR o/r X pipe and I found a set of Magnapacks on e-bay for 60 bucks plus shipping... so I could dump those under the car, or weld them into the pipe. So thats basically 200 some odd for a midpipe and mufflers/catback.

If not a SC then gears..

If you drive mostly on the highway and plan for a supercharger, get 3.73's. Install costs anywhere from $200-600 . Depending on where you live.

4.10 or 4.30 gears and still get 24-25 mpg with them. Too many are afraid of the gear.

Average install 175-200 bucks. Also get a speedcal($100) and a bearing overhaul kit($100) if you have more than 30k on the car.

If you really want to look at a dollar per HP comparison of different mods, nothing will beat removing stuff for weight reduction. Everything in the trunk can go. Back seat (including the hardware). Passenger seat. All the crap in the storage consoles. Radio, speakers, amps.

Awww man....does that mean I should take the .40 cal out of my glove box? What about the bodies in the trunk?

Gears would be a great mod....but nothing beats some decals! V-Tech FTW!

I just washed my car. That should be good for 10-15 rwhp...

Get the gears, and don't puss out & get the 3.73s unless you're going with FI down the road. Go with the 4.10s if you're gonna stay N/A!
