OK--little help here. I have an '87 ex-State Patrol car (coupe) that has an '89 MAF engine in it. I'm gonna pull the engine and freshen it up a bit, and I want to change the cam. It is a daily driver, has a cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, 2 1/2" flowmaster exhaust (no cats), etc. Any thoughts??

If your going to leave the stock intake and heads on a cam would be unneccesary...and wouldn't help you much at all...

A custom cam is the best way to go...FTI, Buddy Rawls, etc...
