Best Fuel Pump for a Stock 89 GT?

I may need to change out the fuel pump in my stock 89 GT, I have a very intermittent fuel pressure drop.

I'm on my third or fourth pump over the 13 years or so I've owned it due to various problems. What's in it now is a stock replacement from Car Quest that replaced the entire assembly from the plug on down including the disk and brackets all nicely zinc plated. It's about 5 years old.

I have a low-mileage Carter on the shelf I could put in.

Are the high flows the best quality? I really want the highest reliability I can find.

Let me know as I would like to never replace a pump again!

Well, my problem is a loss of fuel pressure after a long steady cruise. Going 75 mph, tap the brakes to come off cruise and power is gone until 60 mph when it catches. Put a pressure gauge on it and it goes from 38 psi or so and drops to 1 psi then catches back to 38 or so.....I'm figuring electrical in nature.

New relay, inertia switch, pressure regulator, gas tank, gas cap, computer (A9L swapped for a A9P)....
