I am looking into the RPM Air Gap or Victor JR and would like some opinions. Engine is a DSS level 20 with 9.4 compression AFR 185 Heads and the cam is a B-41 Anderson Ford Motorsport roller 228 duration Intake 236 Exhaust,The lift is .544 intake and .568 exhaust. It is going into my 65 Gt with a c-4 and 2800 stall with a 9" and 3.70 gears. It will be driven on the street and Drag raced a few times in the summer. Would I be leaving anything on the table going with the Air Gap? I will also be using the stock hood. Thanks, Mike

I have the Victor Jr on mine, similar combo, and I am happy with it.

Similar combo here, too, using an RPM Air Gap in an early 66, using '65 mounts. I have about 3/4" clearance from the stud to the bottom of the hood.

I am looking at using the ron morris engine mounts with the 1/2" drop. I want to keep the stock hood. Thanks for the info. looks like both will fit.

I'm a dual plane high rise fan as it's very versatile. It fits under my stock hood with a drop base and 3" K&N and a 680 XE holly. Doesn't a Vic Jr pigeon hole you?
Just my thoughts! Happy motoring.

Im running the airgap on my 408w. Cant help with clearance issues as the 351 is a whole different animal. But overall I am very pleased with the intake, my motor will happily turn to 6500 without any struggle.

I picked up a new victor jr for $150.00. I am having the intake port matched to the heads. I should have my engine back early next week.

I think you need another CR point. Why so low?
The intake should work fine, if you are willing to give up a little torque on the street.

Probably only gain at near peak with the Victor Jr. but lose on the bottom end.

With 3.70's and a 2800 stall converter I would of probably opted for the Airgap.

I kept the compression at 9.4 so I can add a supercharger down the road.
