Funny my 'out of the box' typhoon held it's own and then some according to my dyno sheet...no casting issues here, now my RPM...that was a pc of questionable quality. I run a standard Typhoon intake on my set up and like it so far. I have had it since they first came out. I did the gasket matching and some smoothing in the upper plenum.

i have heard stories of lots of people that buy the typhoon. take a grinder and clean it up a bit. they say the ports are rough and thats where to cheap labor comes in. they were very happy with the piece and felt the money was well spent.

I had my engine builder clean up the runners a little bit, but other than that, it has worked out fine for me. No problems whatsoever...

bought one used for 120 shipped. cant beat that. they quality looks pretty good. couple of touch ups w/ the dremel and it looked very nice. made in china nonsense is all bs.

the runners look pretty ****ty so I spent a couple days total polishing all the runners and the plenum to flow better and opened up one of the runners near the port where there is a pretty bad kink,

The Typhoon intake clearly needs to be gasket matched. It is obvious that the foundry does a minimal clean up of the ports and runners before shipping.

Ive got one along with their EGR plate and TB and everything was fine , only casting flash I found was on the outside around the runners ,
