Best Long-Tube's? X or H Mid-Pipe?

Best LT's? X or H?

Wow.. Tough question huh? I ordered my cat-back the other day. (finally decided on the magnapacks, best price IMO, cant wait to hear them) And now im ready to start looking for some Long-tubes and a mid-pipe. I'm not sure if i want to go X or H, but if it makes and difference, im going to stay N/A.

As far as LT's go, which do you think is the best? I've really only browsed the boards for them lightly, so im not sure who even offers them. (BBK, Mac, ?) Im obviosuly looking for performance, but i am also concerned about sound. I dont really car how loud it is, i just dont want my car to sound like it has an SLP Loudmouth (way to crackly) Also, whats the major difference between H and X? I had a H pipe on my 95, and was satisfied. Im probably going to go no cats, only because its cheaper and i dont have to worry about emissions (that much). Also, as far as brands go, are any brands better than the others? I mean, how can a company screw up a mid-pipe?

Any input would be awesome, Thanks! :nice:

Not sure about the headers - I know that the BBKs are a good quality - but not sure about the install since I havent done it yet on my car.

Basically the H will give you the classic deep tone and the X will give you a deep sound down at low RPMS, and a real racy, howling sound when you get on it. You said you don't want a crackling sound, so I say the X would smooth the note out for ya. As for the brands - I prefer Dr Gas, SLP, or Mustangtuning.

Good luck

I dont think it really matters who u get the LT headers from just make sure they are ceramic coated they will last you much longer. BBK's LT headers will probably be more reliable than MAC's.

As far as H vs X it really depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. Those maganpacks are probably gonna pop and crackle quite a bit. I've never heard the magnapacks in real life but I've heard magnaflow and they pop and crackle alot. H-pipe is gonna give you a much deeper sound than the X-pipe will. Steve is pretty much right on about the X-pipes the mustangtuning.com and Dr. Gas will be deep at idle and low rpms but will become raspy and hollow up high. H-pipe will be real deep at idle and low rpms and when you get on it, it doenst become raspy and hollow it stays pretty deep. I prefer H-pipe over X-pipe because I cant stand the raspy sound but it really depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. If you havent already, go to www.mustangexhaust.com tons and tons of sound clips for you there.

I have BBK polished ceramic LTs, BBK Offroad X, and Magnaflow CB.

I love it and so does everyone else that hears my car. The BBK is a high quality header and still looks great, even after 16 months and over 20k miles.

I would go with a good quality X pipe, a friend of mine has same setup as I except for he has a Dr. Gas X, and we dyno'd the same. Due to this reason, I don't think the Dr. Gas is worth the extra money IMHO.
