...... but seriously ... I find that the hardest part of working on my car is sometimes just getting it in the air. I just did my 5 lug conversion and my trans (not too long ago) and the biggest beach was getting the car on jack stands. I don't want to twist the crap out of my car in the process either. My car is so low up front that I have to put one front tire under a 3" cinder block, put the oppossite front control arm under the first notch on a jack stand, go back to the cinder block side and put that control arm on a jack stand. Once that's done, go to the rear and I have to feed the jack in from under the passenger door, put it on the rear pumpkin and jack it up that way, the put jack stands under the axle tubes or subframes. Usually takes me about 1/2 hour to get MY CAR IN THE AIR. Anybody else have this sort of problem??

(Trying VERY hard to keep a straight face) Not to "jack" the thread, but my car is similarly close to the ground, and I use a simple two-step process. There's this thing called a "jack" in my hatch area, I put it under the "jacking rail" on one side closer to the end I want to raise, and raise it enough to get my floor jack under the k-frame up front or the pumpkin in the rear. I then raise it high enough to get jack stands under the appropriate frame rails and I'm in business in about five minutes.

I never use the center of the K-member to jack my car up. I have a fear of it just bedning. I'm sure that wouldn't happen but I just never do it. Thanks for only being half a smart a s s
