I'm not looking for any super high flow pumps or anything, just a good stock replacement. Any suggestions for ones that are better quality than others? My pump is getting really loud and its probably on its way out.

As long as you have to switch it anyway, another vote for the Focus pump.

If your stock one still works and is not broken, just leave it alone.

The stock one works, but it's LOUD like whining like a bitch. I probably won't replace it until it actually fails just because of money, but i'd like to be somewhat prepared so I can get the right one fast when I need it. Is there a good place to order the pumps from or is it just a dealership type thing? Also, its a 96' GT, are all the pumps the same for the 4.6's anyways?

May as well replace it before you have to. Have to = car no move.

There's no problem with running the biggest one (255), but they're typically a bit noisy.

sorry, me too. I assumed you were returnless. You still have many options and not that expensive. You can replace with a stock or upgrade depending on what you will do in the near future. If you will remain mostly a bolton car, then go with stock.

Well, if the mods are kept minimal, feel free to drop in a 110, 155, 190 or a 255lph. Any one will suit your needs, but if forced induction is ever in the cards, you're going to need at least the 190lph to fill your needs.

I'd go with the 255, it leaves plenty of room for more upgrades and the price difference is minimum. Also, the tech at summit told me just about all the major brands are made by Walbro

http://www.jdsperformance.com/index.asp?incatuid=138&fcmd=cat&inmake=ford Best price I found for Walbro 255 high pressure. Yea, its a bit noisey but I have lots of room to grow.

if he's complaining about a noisy fuel pump now, he doesn't want to get the 255. If this is mainly a daily driver, go back with stock or a 190lph.

I don't have any future plans for this car before selling it, and i've had a walbro 255 in my rx-7 and it was also noisy so i'd rather stick with stock flow levels.

stock one you can usually get from the shelf at Ford. Auto Zone , Napa, Advance, usually one of those will have one if needed fast.

could putting in a pump that is well over the flow needed create problems?

I've had a Walbro 255 in my Roush for a couple of years with no problems at all. The only time I really hear it is right before I start the car, other than that, not very whiney at all.

the larger flow number will do just that, flow more fuel if needed. The fuel pressure regulator will keep the pressure at the level it needs to be at.
