I have decided I want to actually re-cover my seats. I want to get the inner part saddle/tan, and the outter part black. I like the stock seats so I dont really want to get some aftermarket ones and this is the look Im going for. And Im not paying an arm and a leg to have someone re-cover them for me. First off, where can I even get this? And secondly, what is the best place?

EDIT: Forgot to mention I only need the front.

50resto sells them, and mike arndt also does seats. iirc think they are in the $600 range for cloth and vinyl, and $800 for leather.

How would a cover be more expensive compared to the entire seat which has the cover and then some?

Hmm...

I know I saw the kits in JCWhitney, but I dont trust the quality, they only come solid colors, and I only need the front.

Check out http://www.leatherseats.com, These are real good quality covers, much more wear-resistant than the factory leather. The price is not bad either. I hope to be getting a set of these in the spring time. BTW, I've only ever seen companies sell the entire front and back kits. The only way I can think you can get just the fronts is to have an uphulstery (sp?) shop make them, which will cost you just as much or more than the full set.

Katzkin...

Its where the late model resto and places like that get their seat covers. They can probably do anything you want, and you can install them yourself.

buddy of mine works at a dealer modify shop that takes dealers cars and up grades them. The company was custom soft trim but they were just bought out here. However, they are the largest in the nation IIRC. He gets some really good deals on kits to redo the seats. They are front and rear though as I was at one time looking to redo just my fronts.

i work at a car dealership and we add leather to some of the used cars we get in. we order them from www.roadwire.com but i believe they are made by classic soft trim. very good quality and usually in the range of $400- $600 for a full leather kit
