I am in the process of buying a new shifter for my 01 GT and i just wanted to know everybodies opinions on what they believe is the best shifter on the market. I was thinking about purchasing the new MGW shifter but I have heard some flaws about the shifter and I have also been told that the UPR Blue Thunder shifter is great. I would really appreciate anyone's opinion.

04' GT - Steeda Sport

First mod I did on my 04' GT was a Steeda Sport Shifter and i'm very happy with it. Great price and excellent smooth shifting. From what i've been reading, Steeda & Pro 5.0 are the only two shifters really to look at.

The Tri-Ax and the MGW are the most popular.

Most poeple when given the chance to feel the difference don't like the feel of the Pro- 5.0 but everyone has different tastes.

Best thing to do is check out local cars that have different shifters and find a feel you like.

I really like my Pro 5.0 shifter. It was my first mod. Some people complain about a short handle, but you can get a longer one from Steeda. Alot of people say the Pro 5.0 is more "heavy duty" than the Tri-Ax.

Just put in the MGW last week. Very freakin' sweet! Shifts like flipping a toggle switch now.
First --> *click* into second --> *click* into third....

But really -- you're not going to go wrong with MGW, Steeda or Pro 5.0. They're all excellent and whatever one you put in, you'll love it.

MGW "Blue Handle" owns all!! All other shifters will feel like stock, sloppy, loose, mile apart throws, compared with MGW.

The base was a bit thick and would rub on the trans tunnel and create a little noise. This supposedly has been fixed in the new models. Even if it does rub, just bend the metal away a bit.

I love my MGW. Shifts awesome and dead silent. I need to get another for my T-5

I love my Pro 5.0. Nice clunk when you shift and short, positive throws. I have no desire to change my shifter.

I had the upr shifter on my 99 cobra and drove my buddies 99 cobra with the steeda triax, they were identical except price. then when I got my 03 cobra I kept hearing about mgw so I bought it, hands down beats the upr and steeda. I am very glad I spent the extra money. have had zero issues with it.

(Now let's hear the "gay" comments from the guys that have Tri-Axes that are jealous...)

The MGW is a machine click click. I couldnt stop smiling after I installed it. Feels like your shifting a race car. Get the red handle if your 6ft or taller.
