best tires and where to get them cheap?

im going to be buying some new 17x9 cobra r wheels and need to get new tires. i have kumho ecsta supera 712's now and they were good tires but i wanted to know all of your opinions on what tire that is a good bang for the buck since im a student on a budget. also i live in florida so its warm most of the year if you want to take that into consideration. and where is the cheapest place to get tires? what range of width fit on the 17x9s? i want them skinnier in the front and wide as possible in the back. thanks for the help

what's your price range? nitto makes a killer tire. try www.tirerack.com . you should be good with 255s, possibly even 275s if you want to get a little crazy.

Try discounttiredirect.com. I got Nitto 555's in 255/17/40 for $134 each with free shipping, the tires were there in two days.

I used www.tires.com and then the discount tire direct option. I've also found good deals at pepboys

Kumho's are pretty cheap and I have no problems with mine.

Khumo Ecsta MX: not a bad tire, pretty sticky, rides good. Haven't had them long though.

Dunlop SP 8000: very very sticky, road a little rough after 15,000 plus. But very sticky even with 27,000 before I replaced them.

Kumho are very good tires. I really don't think they can be beat, for the money!

Tirerack.com is a good place to compare most major brands (not Nittos unfortunately). You can put in what size, type of tires, and price range you want, then use charts to compare survey ratings of different models, as well as read reviews on them. That's how I usually research tires.

I haven't actually bought anything from them, but my friend did and the shipping was pretty fast and reasonable considering he lives in Hawaii.

Check ebay, alot of times you can get great deals on wheel/tire combos. I got my wheels and tires on ebay for about $730 shipped to my door. The tires are Essenzas, which are a new tire from the makers of Goodyear, and they are impressed the hell out of me.

im running Cooper Zeon SX2 awsome tires about $88 a piece, i cant spin my tires that much anymore, very sticky tires, ok on rain surface but not recommended. they dont come with no warrenty tho becuase they are so hight performance tire.

I did tirerack.com and they seemed very reasonable and offer a road hazard warranty for a little extra. (BFG's for 68 a piece)

who did you get your tires from on ebay? i am looking at getting some replica wheels off ebay from i think O.E. Wheel Distributors. i wanted to know if the wheel were good quality and in good shape. 17x9 cobra R specifically. thanks

I have Kumho Ecsta Supra tires now. I like the tread look-it is pretty bada**. My only problem is during the rain. They are meant for dry conditions and that is basically it. I do not think I would get them again, even though they are cheap, I think $80ish. I personally like a all purpose/multi terrain tire.
