So, I have looked at a lot of performance sites and see that someone used one brand of programmer and someone else used a different programmer. My question is, what is the best tuner/programmer out there?

That really all depends on your personal preference, most of us prefer the SCT X-CAL II programmer because it requires fewer program updates than the Diablosport Predator and also because most of us are either brenspeed.com or bamachip.com customers who rely on prompt customer service when necessary and who also use the SCT programming software when developing our custom tuning files..On the other hand ? the Predator also has it's advantages as well, for ie the Predator can be used as both a preloaded or canned tuner and also as a custom tuner where as the X-CAL II is only capable of being either a preloaded or custom programmer although the new SCT livewire programmer is also capable as both a preloaded and custom programmer however, the livewire retails for about $569.00 where the X-CAL II retails for around $379.00- $399.00...Anyway, hope this helps out somewhat and the best of luck to you...:nice:

+1. That is a VERY accurate description. My view on the subject of retaining the old canned tunes vs. only having new custom tunes is this...
If you have an outstanding custom tune from BamaChips or Benspeed, then WHY the heck would you wanna keep those crappy canned tunes anyway? I can't imagine why I would want to switch back?

BTW... add me to the SCT & Doug @ BamaChips bandwagon www.bamachips.com

Amen to that brother, In fact originally I started out with the canned SCT tuner until finally getting so fed up with that annoying drive by wire throttle lag.. that Doug from bamachips.com actually e-mailed me his 93 Torque program to try out for free ? needless to say, once I noticed the improved throttle response along with even more increased HP and Torque gains.. that was all it took to convince me and I haven't turned back since...:nice: Although at times ? I could still kick myself in the butt for not making the switch even sooner lol.

Has anyone reviewed the Livewire yet? I haven't really seen anyone who has bought it talk about if they like it or not. I'm wanting to get a tuner/CAI, but have been waiting for some Livewire reviews so I can see which way I want to go.
