I also use Turtle wax car wash on my black 96 GT and I get
nothing but, great results as the stang looks awesome after
it is all dryed off.

Ah, I must recommend Meguairs NXT car wash. I tried some a month or so ago, and that'll be the last brand I buy for a while. I was really happy with it. It suds up really good, and seems to do a really good job on the paint and wheels. Also smells good as well .

I use straight water unless I need to get wax off to put another coat on. Then I just use whatever's lying around, usually dish soap. I won't be using dish soap on the stang though

Zymol makes a nice soapless foaming wash with shine enhancers. Probably one of the best you can get....$5.99 per 16oz... Turtle wax is a good cheap alternative though.

The Turtle wax car wash is great stuff I would use
that.Whatever you do don't use dishsoap because it will strip the wax on
your clearcoat of your paint.

I've had success with NuFinish car wash, Kit wash n wax, and even (gasp) tried some Motorcraft carwash I got at the dealer that worked pretty well.

My feeling is that as long as you use a name-brand wash that isn't inexplicably inexpensive (i.e. none of that "Wal-Mart brand" $1.50 for 5 gallons stuff), you'll be fine.

Not to hijack, but anyone have any follow-up experience with the "Mr. Clean" system? I see it a lot these days in stores, and apparently Motortrend endorses it...

My friend used the Mr.Clean starter kit last week. He said you have to use double of what they tell you in the directions. He said it had great results and he did not have to dry the car at all. (2002 GT). Only concern is how much replacement liquids and filters cost. I do not know the prices but would like to find out.
