How big is the performence increase with UD pulleys? I have an Auto, will i feel a noticible gain in power? How much difference in 1/4 mile times?

If the alternator is the problem (Rob)...why not get the Steeda pullies and upgrade to the Steeda 200watt Alternator?

Pullies won't give you schit for gains. I was considering getting myself a set of Steeda u/d's a little while back but the 2 rwhp (max. peak) increase that I'd probably see from them just wasn't enough difference for me to justify shelling out $150.00 or whatever they cost. The stock pullies I think were redesigned in '99 so I'm pretty sure that you won't end up noticing any real difference with aftermarket ones. Personally for me 150.00 dollars would be better spent on a good aftermarket shifter.

Dave's 4.6......

Alright pullies posterboy...... Have fun wasting money on pullies and future accessories. Pay me now or pay me later. Stock is much better. You'll have to be one of those to live and learn. Did you do the research like I told you to, or do you keep making bogus claims because you have pullies on your car and didnt know any better. Thanks for the speculation....I prefer facts and professional opinions....

Yeah I think Rob has more than pulley problems lol. Ive had ASP pulleys on my old car. Granted I did have to take off the alt pulley because it dimmed the crap out of my lights and my 5.0 was bad enough to drive at night lol. Now on my '03, the Steeda pulleys are . I have had 0 problems with them. IMO the only way pulleys can ruin anything is if they are installed wrong. You dont seal the notch in the crank pulley, your going to leak oil and ruin your engine. You dont torque it down right, you could be setting yourself up for a leak as well. As for the other 2 pulleys, I have been told by a few speed shops around here that as long as you use the proper belt for your combo, you will be . I have 0 charging problems on my '03 and noticed a sotp difference right after install. They might not be for Rob, but they are definately for me . Also if your that scared of something going wrong, why are you modding your car anyways? You do anything performance wise to your car you risk messing something up, grow a set and start modding !!!

Thanks for clarifying the potential problems that I have stated all along. You have guys putting on pullies that cant figure out how to install a K&N. Thats why they are a potential hazzard as well. I'd say you have problems of your own if this bothers you so much. I'll put my set up against your set any day!!!!...

Rob lol you have got to be kidding me!!! LMFAO!!! What do you mean if this bothers me so much??? Of course it bothers me when you have schmucks running their mouth about product that DO WORK!!! You said it yourself its when you have people that done know what they are doing that mess up the install. I dont know what you are arguing with me about but get off your freaking high horse. Your the uneducated one if you agree with what I said and then say how so many shops have said pulleys will ruin your car. Its people who dont have a clue about what they are doing that ruin their cars, not the pulleys.
You want to talk about reserach, lets talk about research. Steeda has done research on their pulleys to show there is not a significant loss in charge on their alt pulley or water pump pulley. If you hold up the Steeda alt pulley against the factory alt pulley, the size is almost identical. As for what you called research, you did not call the factory of the company you are bashing to ask about their product. You went to shops and talked to people who have probably worked on peoples cars that didnt have a clue what they were doing. Of course they are going to say stay away from pulleys... if you cant install them correctly.
As for you saying you would but your set up against mine??? Ummm yeah you have a chance in hell . All you would see is me past you. Ill even cut my lights on so you can see if they dim or not . As I said before if your so freaking scared of modding your car dont do it.
Hotstang, enjoy your Steeda pulleys man, if they are installed correctly you should have no problems

Get ready to kill your alternator, slow down all of your accessories, and gain no power or drivability. My alternator died twice from steeda pullies! The shop that does ONLY alternators said they see countless premature failures from pullies!

Yeah, right. Sure is funny how I've had both the T/A and pulleys on my car for almost 3 years now without ANY of the problems you mentioned. Maybe you should try installing them right and you wouldn't have any trouble.

I don't think the Duke boys had underdrives in hazzard county. Anyway,I have had the steeda underdrives on three cars, and I haven't had a single problem out of them. Everybody has their own opinion, but if installed properly, they are a cheap mod with no downsides ,which is rare for the 4.6.

If youre so concerned about your cheap pullies that will rust in a year then so be it. Its weak to say you can blow by me in your beloved car. I could EASILY take 6k to the shop and do the 3 stage procharger and you could WATCH me go by. Im really not to concerned about who can beat who, and who's dad is tougher, know what I mean. Im not of third grade mentality like yourself... If I wanted extreme speed, I could trade in my new BMW and buy the Viper down the street. To me though its not about speed so much, just having fun. I could sell a rental property and get a Lambo. if I wanted to, but I like to do better things with my money... You could Take some money and get a Master's degree and gain some intellect and professionalism for example... Keep tellin yourself youre doin the right thing though, you dont bother me! Thanks a million for youre comments!!!!!!!!

pullies work well on a 5.0 because the stock pullies blow..i felt a noticeable gain when i swapped them back when i did have my 5.0, but the 4.6 pullies on 99+ cars are already really good and you don't need replacements.

call a few shops that dont sell pullies, and profit from them. You then will get the CORRECT answers. Try an alternator specialist on the web if you want. They cringe when you mention PULLIES. CAll the guy at mralternator.com and he will be truthful. When I bought my second alternator, the tech. said to take off the Steedas ASAP. I trust them over power hungry modders that define the placebo effect studies! Show me a bonified source that endorses reliability from pullies other than a speed shop....

Your pretty gullable.
Any alternator shop is gonna tell you that, they want you to think you
messed up the alternator. Heaven forbid the alternator go out on its own. Then they are gonna try to void your warranty and make
you buy a new one.
I dont think Saleen, Roush or Steeda is gonna put something on their cars
that may cause problems they will have to fix.

LMAO your the one who brought up how you can match me with your setup... now all of a sudden you need a 6k s/c?
Also Im not concerned with my pulleys rusting. Apparently you cant read a post. You should probably go and get your GED so you can get in a community college somewhere. That way you can learn how to take in what you read.
Your the one bitching about things. Im correcting your stupidity . I can take 6K to the shop as well. Actually for 6K I could do a lot more to my car than yours due to connections but you dont want to go there either huh. Oh yeah buy your property and Lambo and get off this board lol. Maybe then youll quit giving bad advice
Just stop with your ignorant posts . You bore me... very much so... so much in fact I need another beer. Heres to you dipchit

Stanglou the douche bag.... drink your beer, add to your gut, and have a nice life... Your nonsense is not respected. Im sure you are Highschool educated at best from reading your stupid unarticulated crap. Keep telling yourself that youre doing the right thing. I think you have lost your reputation by arguing your frugile useless claims! I love telling underlings like you what to do everyday!!!

Your something else man . I have damaged my rep??? Please pay attention to the thread. Everyone thats posted who has had Steeda pulleys likes them except you. Everyone who has posted with Steeda pulleys has had 0 problems when installed correctly. You had problems with them. What does that tell me??? Lets see... apparently your one of the morons you talked about earlier that tries to do work on their car when they cant change an air filter. Your ignorance really does know no bounds
As for finishing High School... yeah you got me . My B.S. in Animal Science was mail order, and I really dont work at a private cancer research facility here in RTP. I make more in my field in a year and a half than anyone with a Masters would. Man you hit me dead on... you must be so proud.
