best way to clean rusty heads

I have a set of gt40's that have been sitting in my garage for abot two years now. The famous florida humidity has since turned them into an 80lb lump of rusty iron.
short of taking them to a machine shop to have them hot tanked and milled. can I just drop them in the old blast cabinet and proceed to put the shine on em again. the valves are rusty too. can I blast them as well?

yeah i don't see why not, but depending on how rusty they got, they're probably going to be pitted, so you're going to have to take them to a machine shop anyway. might as well have them dip em.

If your gonna bring it to a shop any way dont waste your time. Sounds like it needs a valve job anyway.

I had the heads done before they went to the shelf. new seats and the valves were cut to match. they just need to be cleaned as they are rather crusty.

I am thinking about it. I am not sure if the springs will support the lift from the trick flow cam though.

if the valves I have are still good thumper is going to hook me up with a set of springs.

all in all though for 351 dollars that's a bangin deal
