I got a clutch from a local mustanger, and it's pretty new, only it doesn't really look it, because it was sitting on a shelf for a while, so it's collected up some dust and the disc was sitting on the pressure plate and it looks like a few drops of water were in a small spot, and it rusted up a little bit, would some light sand paper be ok for this, do I sand along with the pressure plate?

Also it's a bit dusty and I want to clean it up, but how?

I would spray it down with brake clean, and then you can use a vibrating sander to sand the pressure plate surface....

The first time you use it...just dump the clutch.

That should clean it

(just kidding!)

I would just lightly scuff the surface of the pressure plate and clutch disk and rince it off with brake cleaner. It shouldn't be a problem unless the disc got any oils on it.
