Just wanted to share a bad experience with RPM Outlet. I have vowed to never buy from them again and will tell as many people about my experience as possible.
I ordered a water pump/pulley kit from RPM Outlet back in August. The kit is supposed to include the water pump, pulley, themostat and a Gatorback belt. Guess what, some two months later, I just got the damn thermostat today and STILL don't have the belt for my 01 GT!! WTF!!!! After about 10 calls, they finally told me last week that I would get the belt and thermostat and today I get a little box with JUST the thermostat.
Another reason that the customer service sucks there, for all of you that ordered your Accufab plenum from them in August thinking that it would be with you soon, SIKE!!!! When they posted the plenum back in August, ACCUFAB had not even released or finished testing the plenum yet. (I confirmed this with ACCUFAB personally) Being pissed that some kid there took my order and said it would be to me in about a week, then called me back to tell me that the plenum was on backorder was an outright lie which after I called ACCUFAB and tried to order direct and they hadn't even released the plenum yet, I turned around and cancelled my order with RPM Outlet the same day. After numerous apologies for being "given the wrong information" I was told that a time disclaimer would be put on the site regarding the plenum availability. Well, my firend Shane calls two weeks later and is told that his order will ship in a week back in August. Guess what, he STILL doesnt' have the plenum, yet and is told it would be another week or so each time he calls. Great customer service huh?? If my problem is an isolated incident, so be it, but for those of you that are waiting for your Accufab plenum from RPM Outlet, it will be another week or so.......
SIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just adding my .02. I ordered the Accufab plenum 2 weeks ago. They called me to confirm my shipping address and were pleasant enough. The plenum shipped via UPS on Monday (Oct. 6) with a tracking number and expected delivery is on Oct. 10th.

It isn't right that there customer service reps aren't aware of the status of products and hand out generic answers, but I have no complaint.

Jay

Maybe I'm just lucky but I've purchased online from PartShopper, RPM Outlet, GEFracing.com, stangstore.com, Classic Design Concepts, Johnsmustang.com, Summit, UPR, Speedconcepts.com, AFS wheels, tirerack.com and others. I've never run into an issue with any of them. The best service being AFS wheels and the worst probably being UPR (one mis-shipped part and unfriendly phone service).

I just ordered my C&L plenum and throttlebody from them last week. Everyone I talked to seemed pleasant enough and helpful, answered a few questions. No problems with shipment, it arrived a few days early in fact.

The only negative experience Ive had since I started ordering parts was with GEF, that was actually my very first order and theyve since redeemed themselves. Lucky, I guess.

I guess the Accufab would be available now some 2 MONTHS after they posted it. They do deem pleasant but nice doesn't always equate to application, feedback and followup. On the other hand, when I ordered my C&L plenum from Dugan Racing/TrickOne, I got it 3 days later. That's service.

I was planning on ordering from RPM Outlet, maybe now I won't. I don't care if 500 people have great experiences with them, as far as I'm concerned, when a vendor lies to and screws over ONE customer, they don't deserve anyone else's business. Sorry they screwed you over. MPS (Mustang Parts Specialties) took $335 of my money back in May of last year, and sadly I have NOTHING to show for it.

Hate to break the news to you guys who think the Accufab plenum is in route.....I am personal freinds and a vendor of John Mihovetz owner of Accufab...Im trying to figure out how RPM Outlet shipped you somethingthat doesn't EXIST!! John told me personally yesterday that the plenums are a week or two away from being ready to ship to vendors....so if you get yours before Oct 10th let me know b/c that would be one hell of a magical trick!!

Ronnie,

Guess I could be mistaken, but I haven't ordered anything else from RPMoutlet and I received a shipping notification with a tracking number from them today... I had to assume that was it since it's the only thing I've ordered from them. Guess I'll know on Friday, but have no reason to doubt your 'inside information'. Maybe they're shipping my consolation prize???

Jay

As a side note, I've worked for manufacturing companies for the past 8 years. 5 with Federal-Mogul & 3 with a commercial tire manufacturer. Supply chain management is very difficult. First, you have dealers who run to market to capitalize on the 'early adopters' and take orders before the competition can get to market and capture the majority of available market share.

This behavior ALWAYS leads to disappointment for the consumer. 1) It's usually a "hot" new product and we all want things NOW. 2) Rushing to the end consumer leads to poor product knowledge by employees/customer service, inadequate training and mis-communication. 3) The dealer AND manufacturer end up with a loss of sales and a tarnished reputation.

Also, I may only be one consumer (and perhaps I mis-read the tone of your message), but I honestly believed that to be the part that was shipped. If you know better, then correct me and move on. I'll live with it and go on with my day or cancel it and request what appears to be an already proven alternative - the C & L plenum.

Thanks,

Jay

I ordered a c&l mass air kit from them and it arrive on time but when i got to looking at the the sample tube was black and according to the c&l webpage the one for my car 97GT is supposed to be blue to i called them up and the first coupld of people i talked to told me that it is the right one so i asked them if the C7l webpage is wrond and they said that it probally isn't so i finally asked to speak to someone else and got some results and they sent the other sample tube for free. It was kinda a pain it it ended up taking a while to get all of my parts together but they were nice about it ove the phone they just didn't beleive me that i don't need that sameple tube.

I have the C&L plenum that I bought from Dugan Racing. I love it!! I actually took it off and tried to smooth out some of the casting inside and it seemed to help somewhat. Good mod for the money. People are saying that thye are picking up about 10 rwhp across the board and I beleive it based on how the car feels now. The Accufab is supposed to flow better (630 CFM to 580CFM) with the 75MM TB but they have not been released yet. Now if C&L beats Edlebrock to the punch with the lower intake early 2004, then I guess we can finish this thing off.

You know what is great about this, even if they continue to slight me on this, with the various posts that I have put out, there have been over 300 views of this issue in less than 3 hours. I also have a friend who has decided NOT to purchase one of the package deals for his 03 Cobra worth over $1000 because of my problem. The money that you lose from bad publicity is not worth the $25.00 part that I should have gotten 2 months ago. They may make it up from someone else but the customers that you lose you NEVER GET BACK......

yeh, i'll never order from them again (rpm outlet). i placed an order for a prochamber & mil eliminators from them and got screwed. since i live in the houston area, they guaranteed me next day delivery. before i placed the order i made sure they had both items in stock. the girl that took my order told me that all items are in stock and that i would have them the next day. well i went ahead and ordered the stuff. i had a scheduled time to have them installed from a local mustang shop that saturday. i have no time during the week to get them installed. the shop is very busy. well, the next day (friday) i get home and there is the package sitting at my front door. so far so good. once i opened it, the mil elims were not in the package. by this time it was too late to call them. so now i'm pissed and had to call the shop to cancel my appointment. the shop said no need to cancel, they have the mil elims on hand and can get it done. on monday i call rpm outlet first thing, they told me that they had shipped the mil elims friday & i should have them today. i told them i don't need them any more and to refund me my money once i send them back. they would not accept a return on them because they were an electronic item. i told them that i have not even opened the damn box. they refused to help even though it was their mistake not having them on stock the day i ordered, when they said they were in stock. on top of this they overcharged me for the prochamber by about $10. they said they i would see the credit within 48hrs. well, 3 weeks later, no credit and mil elims i don't need.
