BFG 275/60/15 on a 90gt fitment issues...

i just got my new BFG's mounted and balanced, got home and put them on and it looks like im gonna have to do some custom work with a BFH and a hacksaw... they are rubbing on the back part of the bumper. suspension should be stock height, eibach drag kit with 50/50's and lakewood traction action lift bars. any advice, comments, insults, w/e haha.

other than the rub, i think it looks pretty good, hopefully it wont be that big of a problem, i was thinking of cutting the bit of the bumper that is rubbing back to clear... any advice?

I got a hammer and sawzall. Give me 20 minutes and them things wont be rubbing anywhere

Shoulda bought a 50 series tire... Haha. A 275/50/15 is about what stock diameter is (little under 26"). 275/60/15 is a whopping 28" tall. Ive seen them on fox cars, but yes, get ready to exercise the BFH!

BTW he got the 60 for a reason. It will be easy to make it fit fine.

they will fit fine, it looks like its only rubbing on the plastic for the rear bumper just need to trim that up alittle, have you rolled your fender lips?

no, not yet, i was planning on it if they rub bad up there but it only looks like it will be bad in the back

I had them on my GT for about a year until I changed them out with some 275/50/15s. I changed them to experiment with track times not necessarily cuz they didn't fit 100% perfect. Mine rubbed in the same spot and behind the tire on the inner wheel well and right at the rear qtr lip. I rolled the lip took a BFH to the inner well and dealt with the small rub mark on the lower plastic ground effect

hahaha, sounds like a plan to me. i am thinking of taking a sawzall and trying to cut the little bit of bumper cover that is rubbing back a bit to clear. i dont give a **** about the bumper, just dont want to ruin the tires

thanks,

i used the BFH method on my inner fenders today and cut a bit off the inner rear part of the bumper. they dont hit when its not moving now... only have about an 1/8th inch of clearance from the back of the tire to the bumper...
