BFG G-Force T/A's vs MT ET Streets

I've been running Nitto's on my car ever since they came out. As long as I stay off the bottle until midway through second they hook fairly well. I went through the first set in about 5k miles but I am a little better at launching on them now and a set usually lasts 15k miles. When I go to the track though the slicks go on. As far as the rain, you REALLY have to be careful on them.

i don't know jack about tires either, but i'm also curious what would hook well and still be usable on the street, because my coupe can't put any power to the ground at all with street radials... how do the Nitto 555r compare to the bfg and m/t? thanks

Chris

oh yeah, merry christmas! :nice:

ive got the nittos on mine now, they hooked just slightly better than the pos goodyears they replaced, and that was only for the first time at the track. theyre fine to me in the rain and on the street, but im not going to buy another pair. id rather just grab a set of four street tires and add a pair of wheels with m/t's

i got an honest 2,000 miles out of my M/T drag radials, i ran nittos before that and probly got about 8,000 out of those... If i got stuck in the rain with the nittos, it was no big deal, i used the car as a DD with nitto drag radials(i also had them on my Lightning and got 20K from them), i love the nitto's that is a great all around tire. Buttt, the M/t's are stricktly a DRY WEATHER tire, i cant stress that enough... any kind of moisture on the ground and you are **** out of luck, its scary to say the least. And its just as scary trying to stop.

The bottom line about tire is that on a stick car, if you want to sidestep the clutch and go, get a full slick for the track and a street tire for every day, Drag Radials are really hard to get right unless you have an automatic, they will either bog or spin, there is a really fine line where they tires work UNLESS you have your suspension dialed.

but chances are if you cant get your 11 or 12 second car to hook on BFG's, then M/T's arent gonna do some magic trick... you cant knock the BFG's, they definitly work seeing as how guys are running 7's on them
